We, the European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders (EFFAB), are looking for an enthusiastic student that can support our team in Wageningen! It concerns the function of Office/Project Assistant
Who are we? EFFAB is an association of organizations and companies active in the field of animal breeding and reproduction. Members of EFFAB are involved in the genetic improvement of different farm animal species: ruminants, pigs, poultry, and aquaculture. EFFAB’s role is to support its members by creating a political and societal environment which is supportive to sustainable developments in animal breeding and reproduction. EFFAB, moreover, promotes research and innovation for sustainable animal breeding and reproduction in Europe by execution of the secretariat of the EU Farm Animal Breeding and Reproduction Technology Platform (FABRE TP). As such we are involved in knowledge exchange and transfer in EU projects relevant for animal breeding and reproduction.
What is your role? In EFFAB your role is to support the office and project manager in their daily tasks. You take the responsibility of the day to day communication in Outlook, Twitter, LinkedIn and website updates. Good communication skills are required for the function, as well as experience with modern communication tools, such as LinkedIn and Twitter. A creative vision for designing flyers and websites is a plus. Other responsibilities include the design and development of newsletters and supporting financial administration. You will also be assisting with the organization of meetings and events in Europe. This will give you the opportunity to travel and attend interesting events abroad.
Who are we looking for? Do you have excellent communication and organization skills? Are you experienced with MS Office, website development (CMS), and social media? Do you have excellent English writing and oral communication skills? Are you motivated, well-organized, pro-active, and precise? Can you handle deadlines and do you take responsibility for your job? Are you flexible and willing to adapt your priorities when necessary? Are you able to work independently in a small team?

We offer a temporary contract with an average of 16 hours per week from January 2018 onwards. We have flexible working hour arrangements, in consultation with your colleagues.
